Lucy the Lump: Update #2

OK Peeps!

I did it! And so did Jenni – my little sister who had one length long hair down to her waist!

“Thanks” to Megs, Alisha, and little Emma Jane who sat with us for 4 ½ hours last night drinking wine and eating pizza while we got our “hair did”!

And SUPER THANKS to Mom who cut our hair and put in the funky colors!!!

Hope you all like the pics (mind you these were taken at 10pm last night!!! :)

Hugs n’ Kisses,

-Meeshie :)

Hi Peeps!

I know you’ve all been wondering what the next steps are in my recovery. So here’s an update to get everyone on the same page. I’ve gotten 3 consultations from various Oncologists…and all have said the same thing: Chemo, Radiation, followed by some more medication.

We’ve decided to call Chemo-Therapy “Boot Camp”!!! So from now on, please use the new terminology in the ever growing language of Meeshie-nese…OMG! That’s so true! LOL!!!

Here is my itinerary:

  • Boot Camp starts next Wednesday May 10that 1:30pm, through IV for 8 weeks, given every 2 weeks for 2 ½ hours each visit

  • The first few days will be the toughest but my doctor assured me that she would be giving me anti-nausea meds and other meds to ease any of the side affects

  • Followed by 6-7 weeks of radiation (5 times a week)

  • While taking radiation, I will start 1 year of Herceptin (also IV)

  • Followed by 5 years of Tamoxifin (pill)

Now all of you have known me with long a*s hair…and after much deliberation, I’ve decided to cut it this week!!! Actually, tonight!!! It will be a cute short style…similar to this:

(However, I still might chicken out…but I think it will be fun to have a funky new haircut for a few weeks…yes, my hair will be falling out and I will be the Asian Sinead O’Conner -just a little balder!!! Heehee )

Well, I hope you all now have a better understanding about my little obstacle!!! I think the hardest part will be Boot Camp…but, I’ve always been a soldier so hopefully I can get through this without too many battle wounds!

Hope you all are doing well and I am sure I’ll see each of you in the near future!

Lots of hugs n’ kisses!!!

-your Meeshie :)
